0 PERIOD INFO
During the school year, cadets are able to sign up for our 0 period class where they can join any of our special teams; color guard, saber team, marksmanship, armed drill, exhibition, etc.
Joining these teams means showing up for extra curricular activities in and outside of school.
We take pride in our teams and expect only the best from the cadets who take their time to be a part of them.
If you are interested in joining a team, you can sign up for our 0 period class by going to the library and talking to the assets coordinator during school hours. If you have any questions, please fill out the form below or find a senior during 0 period/ lunch.
Colorguard
Our colorguard is one of our most important teams in JROTC. Our JV and Varsity teams preform at tons of events including leading McClatchy's homecoming parade, presenting colors for football and basketball games, opening important events like military ball and our airsoft tournament as well as school events like senior awards night and graduation.
Being on colorguard takes commitment and willingness. Our team practices Mon-Thurs during 0 period to prepare for upcoming events.
All cadets are welcome and encouraged to join colorguard as well as the other teams listed below.
Saber Team
Saber team does many fun events, with presenting the colors with color guard, to having our sports teams run under the saber arch during rallies. Saber team is easy to learn and fun for everyone who tries. Another good thing about saber team is that its low commitment compared to colorguard
Drill Team
Drill team practices synchronized drill with and without arms (rifles). They are one of the teams that performs for the annual NorCal competition.
Drill team practices two versions of the 46 step drill sequence.
Exhibition Team
Exhibition team learns and becomes proficient in rifle spinning along with other tricks. They perform at rallies and compete in NorCal.
